This project funds development and improvement of water and sanitation systems in Dhaka to improve the quality of water supplied generally and to low-income communities. This includes a new surface water supply, a water intake at Meghna River, water pipelines, a water treatment plant, and improvements to existing water supply and distribution networks.
The project funding is divided as follows:
ADB: US$ 250 million
Agence Francaise de Developpement: US$ 64 milion
European Investment Bank: US$ 136 million
