According to the IDB, the general objective is to cultivate analytical insights that bridge gaps and inform the development of public policies fostering comprehensive social and economic integration for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) individuals in the region, employing an intersectional approach. Specific objectives: 1) Compile and disseminate information regarding the challenges encountered by LGBTQ+ individuals, while also documenting the initiatives, programs, policies, and exemplary practices enacted across Latin America to advance their social and economic integration. 2) Provide insights to inform the formulation and execution of public policies and reforms within regional countries aimed at facilitating the social and economic inclusion of LGBTQ+ communities. 3) Create resources and organize events to facilitate the exchange of experiences and promote the elevation of LGBTQ+ issues onto the political agendas of regional countries, while also supporting IDB teams in integrating sexual diversity strategically into their operations.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment. You can submit a complaint by sending an email to MICI@iadb.org. You can learn more about the MICI and how to file a complaint at http://www.iadb.org/en/mici/mici,1752.html (in English) or http://www.iadb.org/es/mici/mici,1752.html (Spanish).
