Project Description

According to the Inter-American Development Bank, the objective of this project is to help improve Panama's logistics performance by reducing regulatory and institutional restrictions that limit the country's performance in the following areas:

  1. value added logistics services
  2. logistics that support the agriculture sector
  3. logistics that support regional trade.

The specific objectives of this project are to:

  1. strengthen the legal and regulatory framework
  2. consolidate the institutional framework for transport and logistics
  3. strengthen the multisector planning and trade facilitation system. 

This project is the third in a series of Bank funded support for reform in Panama's logistics and transport sector.

The Inter-American Development Bank has applied Directive B.13 to this project so that it does not require classification.
