According to the World Bank, the objectives of the project are to: (a) improve safe and sustainable access to markets and services in targeted rural and urban areas of Nicaragua and (b) in the event of an emergency, provide immediate and effective response to said emergency.
This additional funding will add to the Nicaragua Rural and Urban Access Porject (PMARU) that was active starting in May 2017. The project provides funds to create road links in rural and urban parts of Nicaragua. The original project has the following components:
The original project was given a B rating by the Bank.
According to the World Bank, 39,927 habitants of the communities of Cauloa, Panaloya, El Guayabo, el Hatillo, los Laureles, Osaguay, los Cocos, and la Virgen will benefit from this project.
