According to the IDB, the general objective of the Technical Cooperation (TC) is to support the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MADS) in the technical and logistical coordination for the preparation and execution of the 16th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) convene in Colombia between October and November 2024, and its corresponding protocols: the 11th Meeting of the Parties (MOP) to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (CP-MOP-11) and the 5th MOP to the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of the Benefits Arising from their Utilization (NP-MOP-5). In the technical aspects of COP16, the IDB will support MADS in positioning innovative financial instruments for biodiversity conservation.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
