According to the bank's website, "The project will improve the quality and reliability of electricity supply, reduce the aggregate technical and commercial (ATC) losses in electricity distribution, and restore the financial sustainability of the rural electricity supply. These will be achieved by converting low-voltage distribution lines to aerial bundled conductors (ABCs), separating the 11-kilovolt (kV) feeders supplying agriculture consumers from those supplying rural households to facilitate the rationing of electricity supply to agriculture consumers, improving the financial management of UPPCL, and deepening community engagement to improve electricity supply cost recovery and gender inclusivity in rural electricity distribution-related activities."

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment.
