El objetivo principal del proyecto es impulsar una segunda fase de expansión de la red de internet gratuita de Wayfree a municipios desatendidos en Guatemala, promoviendo el uso productivo de internet, incluyendo recursos educativos, comerciales y otros. Esta fase pretende brindar acceso gratuito a internet en Guatemala, enfocándose en cubrir los 125 municipios restantes que aún carecen de conectividad adecuada. Este proyecto busca no solo reducir la brecha digital sino también mejorar la calidad de vida de las comunidades vulnerables, particularmente en áreas rurales y urbanas de bajos ingresos. Con esta expansión, el proyecto se alinea con indicadores clave como el aumento de la conectividad, el desarrollo económico a través del apoyo a pymes y emprendedores locales, y las mejoras en la educación al facilitar el acceso a plataformas educativas y comerciales en línea.
