According to the IADB, the objective of this technical cooperation (TC) is to support the development of public policies and technical instruments that enable the competitive development of the bioeconomy in the Amazon region of Colombia, in coordination with subnational governments at the departmental level. The specific objectives of the TC are: (i) to strengthen policy frameworks on bioeconomy as a sustainable development alternative; (ii) to support the development of value chains that enhance the bioeconomy in the Amazon region; and (iii) to promote the strengthening of institutional capacities and knowledge management related to bioeconomy chains. It focuses on working with the departments of Guaviare, Putumayo, and Guainia.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
