Project Description

This project will finance improvements to the Khevi-Ubisa section of Georgia's East-West Highway, an integral part of one of the six key Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) corridors.

This project will construct a continuation of the Kuboleti bypass along the major Black Sea port Batumi. This includes 15km of new dual carriageway on the EWH between Khevi and Ubisa.

This project builds on previous installments financed by the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency.

The breakdown of this loan is as follows:
US$100 million from the ADB's ordinary capital resources
US$100 million from the Export-Import Bank of Korea
