The Project involves the construction, operation, and maintenance of water distribution and sewage collection and treatment services across 74 municipalities in the state of Sergipe, Brazil, directly benefiting approximately 2.3 million people. The Project is governed by a 35-year concession agreement granted to Igua Sergipe S.A.
Total capital expenditures are estimated at approximately R$6 billion through 2033, allocated to water supply and sanitation investments. Water-related capex will focus on expanding and rehabilitating distribution networks and replacing water meters as part of a water-loss reduction program. Sanitation investments will include the development of new sewage collection networks and interceptors, the construction of new wastewater treatment plants, and the installation of new sewage pumping stations.
