According to the IADB, the objective is to promote nature-based productive activity to contribute to the economic development of indigenous peoples, protecting their cultural identity and the environmental integrity of the Peruvian Amazon. The specific objectives are: a) promote the implementation and equipping of sustainable productive projects under the indigenous economy approach in 9 Amazonian regions; b) support the execution of the Life Plans, especially in terms of their dimension of economic development, food sovereignty and territorial protection, c) promote the creation of an incubator for indigenous businesses; and, d) strengthen the indigenous economy within the framework of the national and regional governance of the AIDESEP structure.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
