Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to bank's website, the approved project aims to improve resilient transport connectivity along selected sections of the Asian Highway 21 regional corridor and increase national logistics management capacity. Component 1: Road Corridor Improvement will focus on the improvement and maintenance of about 247 km of existing road infrastructure. The overall framework for the engineering design will follow the ASEAN Highways Class 2 standards, including 7-meter asphalt paved two traffic lanes (3.5 meters for each direction) and paved road shoulders on each side, which will enhance road safety by allocating the road shoulder for two-wheeler traffic. Design engineers will conduct detailed flood and hydrology assessments and integrate resilient and green engineering solutions for infrastructure improvement. Component 2: Institutional Strengthening in Logistics and Trade Facilitation will support institutional strengthening and capacity-building activities, including the provision of goods (ICT and equipment) and technical assistance to improve capacity in logistics, multimodal transport management, and trade facilitation. Component 3: Phase 1 Project Management and Phase 2 Preparation will provide resources for the project management, including capacity building and monitoring in fiduciary and audits, technical assistance, and environmental and social monitoring, as well as Phase 2 preparation support. Component 4: Contingent Emergency Response will provide an immediate response to an Eligible Crisis or Emergency, as needed.

Early Warning System Project Analysis

If available, there may be a complaint office for the respective bank which operates independently to receive and determine violations in policy and practice. Independent Accountability Mechanisms receive and respond to complaints. Most Independent Accountability Mechanisms offer two functions for addressing complaints: dispute resolution and compliance review.
