According to bank's website, the approved project aims to (a) increase access to jobs among youth, (b) increase the acquisition of job-relevant skills, and (c) improve the skills ecosystem for jobs in the Republic of Cabo Verde. The Creating Opportunities and Reaching Results on Employment (CORRE) Program will support a defined portion of the Governments broader Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development (PEDS II and forthcoming PEDS III), focusing on Human Capital Development and Social Protection components relevant to youth employment. Implemented from 2026 to 2031, the CORRE PforR is part of the first phase of operations under the Skills for Innovation Resilience and Aspirations (SIRA) Multiphase Programmatic Approach (MPA) for West Africa. CORRE is Cabo Verde’s first PforR operation with a total financing of US$15 million, including US$1 million IPF component for technical assistance. The IPF Component will support key technical assistance and capacity building activities under the program. The IPF component will support cross-cutting activities, provide a strong foundation for achieving the program objectives and will consist of two subcomponents, one for technical assistance and the other for program management by the special projects management unit (UGPE).
