Project Description

This project finances support for the Government of Ukraine in implementing their Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative agenda via four components: i) implementation; ii) capacity building; iii) communication and outreach; iv) project management in order to improve transparency and accountability in the extractive industries measured.

This project is funded by a grant from the World Bank's Extractives Global Programmatic Support. The proposed grant would be a follow-on grant to a grant from the Middle East and North Africa Multi Donor Trust Fund through the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), which financed the establishment of Ukraine’s national EITI Secretariat and the first EITI report’s preparation and dissemination. The Government of Ukraine will cover the costs of office space and associated utility costs, while the grant will cover the operation costs associated including office supply, travel costs related to the work of the Secretariat and of Multi-Stakeholder Group members, office maintenance, internet, phone, banking charges.
