Project Description

This project provides financing to improve efficiency and reliability of national waterway 1. The components include technical assistance for project preparation, improvement of river fairway, construction of permanent protection works for erosion-prone banks, rehabilitation of the existing Farakka ship lock and construction of a new parallel lock, six freight terminals, repair of vessel and maintenance facilities and five pairs of Ro-Ro crossings.
