The program's general objective is to support the country to achieve its climate change objectives in the energy sector, and contribute to the consolidation of fiscal and external accounts, through policy reforms. The specific objectives of the second programe are: (i) to support the advancement of the replacement of fossil fuels with electricity and to increase energy efficiency measures; (ii) promote access to electricity and strengthen conditions for increasing the use of renewable energy sources; and (iii) advance the implementation of the country's commitments for the exchange of greater electricity in the region.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
