Contribute to the improvement of the comprehensive management of Solid Waste in the Dominican Republic, with a special focus in the Great Santo Domingo area. As specific objectives, it seeks to: (i) ensure the proper final disposal of Solis Waste and mitigate the negative environmental and social impacts of landfills and open-air dumps located in the areas targeted by the intervention; (ii) increase the recovery and valorization of Solid Waste promoting the social inclusion of informal recyclers, gender equity and the participation of women and; (iii) reduce the generation of GHG emissions in the management of Solid Waste.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
