According to the IFC, the project will provide guidance and hands on capacity building activities to assist NWEDC's key staff intervening on environmental and social matters to develop and implement critical E&S related processes and practices aligned to good international industry practices.
The objective is to improve E&S practices of Nepal Water and Energy Development Co. (NWEDC) in the context of the Upper Trishuli 1 Hydropower Project.
As stated on the company's website, Nepal Water & Energy Development Company Pvt. Ltd is an energy utility company specialized in hydropower development and was established with an intention of encouraging foreign investment to work in the area of hydropower in Nepal.
