Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

As stated by the IFC, the proposed investment is a loan of up to EUR 7 million to TND SA, as part of a EUR 21.3m greenfield poultry project comprise of three (3) layer farms, six (6) broiler farms (each having 16 broiler houses), and a slaughterhouse. The project will include four sites in the Commune of Ouad Naga (approx. 30 km southeast of Nouakchott) covering 135 ha, and a feed mill to be constructed on a 4 ha plot approx. 10 km southeast of the Port of Nouakchott. All the produce (eggs, frozen/fresh broiler chicken, and feeds) will be supplied to the local market. TND has partnered with NTD France as a turnkey contractor with a five-year operational technical assistance. Established in 2021, TND has over 10 years of experience in the food products distribution business in Mauritania and has established logistics infrastructure and access to over 10,000 retail points in the country.
