This project will enable Soufflet to support farmers by funding their inputs either directly or through in-kind pre-financing by providing agricultural inputs (e.g. seeds, fertilizers, crop protection products) to countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asian (ECA) region, including Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Poland, Romania and Ukraine.
The investment is a Euro 50 million A-Loan (“the IFC Loan”) to Soufflet, a longstanding IFC client. At the time this is IFC’s 6th investment with Soufflet.
According to IFC: Established over a century ago, the Soufflet Group (“Soufflet” or “Company”) is a well-diversified and vertically integrated agribusiness group in the wheat and barley value chains. It is France’s #1 grain originator and input distributor, one of France’s largest grain exporters, and the 2nd largest maltster in the world.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IFC/MIGA
The Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an IFC or MIGA- financed project. If you submit a complaint to the CAO, they may assist you in resolving a dispute with the company and/or investigate to assess whether the IFC is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. If you want to submit a complaint electronically, you can email the CAO at CAO@worldbankgroup.org You can learn more about the CAO and how to file a complaint at http://www.cao-ombudsman.org
