As stated by the ADB, the proposed equity investment in Actis Asia Climate Transition SCSp (the Fund) supports renewable energy, energy solutions, and sustainable transportation companies in the Asia-Pacific region.
The project will increase access to affordable, reliable, and modern energy services and the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix. The project will reduce poverty by providing clean and sustainable energy to support productivity while improving the quality of life through reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving local air quality.
Actis LLP invested - and currently invests - in companies with coal- and gas-related activities in South Asia.
The ADB categorized the project risks as FI.
As stated by Bloomberg, Actis LLP operates as a private equity firm. The Company invests in financial services, consumer, metals, mining, energy, real estate, and healthcare sectors. Actis serves customers worldwide.
