According to ADB, the transaction technical assistance (TA) through this project will help the government develop the capacity of the executing agency, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), in: (i) improving mobility of elderly, women, children, and differently abled through various mobility solutions within and beyond the catchment area of the Delhi-SNB RRTS corridor; (ii) augmenting urban finance and strengthening domestic resource mobilization for sustainable RRTS operations; (iii) undertaking climate change adaptation and mitigation measures; and (iv) developing urban growth poles along the Delhi-SNB RRTS corridor to spur economic development in the NCR, particularly in the state of Haryana. The TA will also support knowledge sharing activities to develop capacity in planning and policy interventions of urban transport and cross sectoral areas, including livable cities, access to services, climate resilience, and affordable housing.
The TA financing amount is $1.0 million, which will be financed on a grant basis by ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund (TASF-other sources) The government will provide counterpart support in the form of reports and studies, counterpart staff, office accommodation, office supplies, communication facilities, and other in- kind contributions. The government was informed that approval of the TA does not commit ADB to finance any ensuing project.
