According to the Bank’s website, the program completes a series of programmatic approaches designed to progressively build the Philippines’ domestic capital market and increase the supply of long-term finance, particularly for infrastructure. It transitions the government’s reform program into a wider, more coordinated development effort that begins a focused initiative to diversify the investor base and expand the contractual savings sector. The program will raise incomes and reduce poverty by boosting investment and economic growth and will support the government’s post-coronavirus disease (COVID-19) recovery. The program will also provide workers, including informal workers, with the ability to accrue retirement savings, reducing intergenerational and old age poverty.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment.
