Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to the bank document, the project will help transform secondary Greater Mekong Sub-Region (GMS) central and southern corridor towns into economically inclusive, competitive tourism destinations by improving transport infrastructure, urban environmental services, and capacity to sustainably manage tourism growth. It will boost trade in services and deepen regional cooperation and integration in the GMS and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). About 97,000 residents are expected to directly benefit from climate-resilient infrastructure development and increased access to economic opportunities. Project investments are prioritized in the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan 2015 2025, GMS Tourism Sector Strategy 2016 2025, and national tourism strategies

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. You can learn more about the Accountability Mechanism and how to file a complaint at: http://www.adb.org/site/accountability-mechanism/main
