According to the bank website, "ADB received the government's periodic financing request for tranche 6, a grant amounting $105 million, from ADB's Special Funds resources (Appendix 1). The project is aligned with ADB''s Strategy 2030 (operational cluster 3 on infrastructure and economic connectivity) and supports three of its seven operational priorities in (i) addressing remaining poverty and reducing inequalities, (ii) tackling climate change, building climate and disaster resilience, and enhancing environmental sustainability, and (iii) fostering regional cooperation and integration. Tranche 6 is in line with ADB's country partnership strategy 2017 -2021 for Afghanistan which continues prioritizing developing power transmission both for regional interconnections and domestic network expansion. The proposed Tranche 6 is also in line with the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation 2030 which promotes cross-border energy trade. ADB included this project in the country operations business plan, 2019- 2021 for Afghanistan."

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. You can learn more about the Accountability Mechanism and how to file a complaint at: http://www.adb.org/site/accountability-mechanism/main
