According to the Bank’s website, IFC will assist the Municipality of Timisoara in structuring and implementing of a PPP transaction for the health sector. The PPP agreement will include the design, construction, financing, equipment and maintenance of a multi-profile hospital. IFC would apply a two-phased transaction implementation approach. In Phase 1, IFC will carry out a due diligence analysis of the Project, assessment of investors' interest, and the transaction structuring. In Phase 2, IFC will draft the tender documentation and support the Client in implementation and conclusion of the tender process.
The objective of the Project is to optimize the hospital network in Timisoara, increase efficiency of public expenditure on hospital construction and maintenance, creation of modern energy efficient hospital infrastructure by consolidation of existing outdated hospitals into a new multi-profile modern healthcare facility. The successful implementation of the Project is expected to result in the mobilization of private sector investment and expertise in the design, construction and maintenance of hospital infrastructure in line with modern standards.
