As stated on the project disclosure page, the IFC will provide transaction advisory support to Government of Madhya Pradesh through the New & Renewable Energy Department and Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited to develop innovative renewable energy Public Private Partnerships, including a renewable energy park in Morena, Madhya Pradesh.
The successful implementation of the Project is expected to result in clean power generation, avoidance of greenhouse gas emissions, and mobilization of private investment in the renewable energy sector.
As stated by the IFC, the estimated total budget was pending at the time of disclosure.
As stated on the company's website, Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) was formed in 2015 and is a Joint Venture Company of Madhya Pradesh UrjaVikas Nigam Limited, and Solar Energy Corporation of India. RUMSL has been designated as Solar Power Park Developer by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) to develop large-scale solar parks in the state of Madhya Pradesh. RUMSL is developing solar parks under MNRE’s Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Projects scheme. RUMSL undertakes the entire gamut of activities for development of Solar Power Project; this included conceptualization, market consultations, financial and legal structuring and bid process management, as also development of land and associated infrastructure.
