Project Description

According to bank provided information, the Project involves the development, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a 900MW greenfield wind power plant under the terms of a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with the Egypt Electricity Transmission Company, fully guaranteed by Egypt’s Ministry of Finance.     

Investment Description
Here you can find a list of individual development financial institutions that finance the project.

Total Project cost is estimated to be up to US$700 million. IFC will provide up to US$100 million  as well

as risk management products (interest rate swap and cross-currency swap) from its own account. The remaining debt of up to US$560 million will be provided by a mix of parallel Lenders.

The Project will be implemented by Shadwan Wind Power SAE (the Borrower), an Egypt incorporated special purpose vehicle ultimately owned by Scatec ASA (the Sponsor).
