Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to the bank document, the project will invest in two higher education institutions (HEIs)  Institute of Technology in Surabaya (ITS) in East Java, a public technological institution in Indonesia specializing in science, engineering, and arts; and UNILA in Sumatra, one of Indonesia's best public universities outside Java, in the field of medical education.

The two HEIs are included in the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (MORTHE) 's priority investment list, given their high level of readiness, capacity, commitment and potential to become top universities in specific specializations. Furthermore, ITS has strong linkages with the private sector as they conduct R&D; relevant for enterprises in the manufacturing sector, leading up to the creation of prototype and assessing their commercial viability.

Support to the University of Lampung (UNILA) reflects the government's focus on human capital development in light of the fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), within which health sector is prioritized as a high-growth industry, and with direct benefits to citizens through health outcome improvement. The project will integrate advanced technologies in teaching and research, expanding the two HEIs' capacity to deliver market-relevant programs and high-quality research to support innovation.
