Project Description

According to the Bank's website, this project provides financing to the joint municipal enterprise Water Supply and Wastewater Management Agency of the Uzgen Region for the rehabilitation of urgent water supply works in the municipalities of Myrzaki, Kurshab and Don-Bulak. This includes replacing water supply networks, rehabilitating water supply systems, and modernizing household metering and operational equipment.

Joint municipal enterprise Water Supply and Wastewater Management Agency of the Uzgen Region The Company was established in September 2016 and is equally owned by the municipalities of Myrzaki, Kurshab and Don-Bulak. The Company provides drinking water supply services in the municipalities. The Company has 12,180 registered customers as of 2018, forecasted to grow to 33,461 by 2022 and 43,045 by 2033 as a result of the investment project and the annual population growth.

The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project.
