According to the Bank´s website, the transaction consists of financing for the construction and commissioning of a new steel mill that will use metal scrap as raw material in San Nicolás de los Arroyos, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina (the "Project"). The total investment of the Project amounts to approximately US$300 million, of which BID Invest is structuring a Sustainability-Linked Loan ("SLL") guaranteed on a long-term basis for up to US$100 million.

The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest)-funded project.
