The objective of technical cooperation TC is to exchange experiences through technical knowledge to strengthen the environmental and social oversight capacities of the Ministry of Environment team in Uruguay in the following technical areas: (i) Management of chemical substances, (ii) Management of environmental liabilities, (iii) Management of socio-environmental complaints, (iv) Sharing applied experiences and identifying potential improvements in the control of the pulp production sector; and (v) Developing proposals for enhancing environmental and social oversight at the institutional level in areas that are part of the knowledge exchange between Uruguay and Chile on Environmental Management of Chemical Substances.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IDB / IDB INVEST
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IDB Invest is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
