According to the IADB, the general objective of the TC is to support the GoRTT in the preparation and execution of the Trinidad and Tobago National Water Sector Transformation Program, Phase 2 (TT-L1071). The specific objectives of the TC are: (i) to support the assessment of the cost and technical/engineering aspects of the works; (ii) the preparation of due diligence studies; (iii) the preparation of environmental and social impact assessments; (iv) the preparation of financial, socioeconomic, and institutional capacity assessment platform (ICAP); (v) to provide technical assistance to the executing agency in procurement; and (vi) to promote sustainable and climate resilient infrastructure design response and management by integrating comprehensive climate risk and vulnerability assessments under different climate scenarios, strengthening also climate-risk informed decision-making and adaptative capacities.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
