Project Description

According to the IADB, the general objective is to reduce avoidable non-communicable diseases (NCD) morbidity and premature mortality in Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) by strengthening an integrated, patient-centered health system. The specific objectives are: (i) Strengthen continuity, interoperability, and data-driven health service delivery for NCD prevention and management; (ii) Improve continuity of care for NCD prevention, early detection, and management; and (iii) Strengthen sustained adoption and routine use of integrated health services, prevention programs, and digitally enabled care models to improve patient engagement, preventive behaviors, and disease management.

The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
