The objective of this TC is to support the Ministry of Trade Industry and Tourism in the development of Suriname's National Sustainable Tourism Master Plan. The specific objectives of this TC are: (i) to establish a set of priority actions to be implemented over the period 2019-2030 that will set the groundwork for an increase in tourist expenditure in Suriname; (ii) to increase institutional capacities for tourism governance at the national level; and, (iii) to support the Government in the implementation of specific strategic actions and recommendations prioritized by the Tourism Master Plan.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
