Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to the IADB, the objective of this technical cooperation is to generate rigorous evidence on the causal impacts of IDB Group-supported, bank-intermediated trade finance operations on firm-level outcomes in Latin America and the Caribbean. The specific objectives are: (i) identify the firm-level and market-level characteristics associated with the use of trade finance instruments and analyze the factors that shape firms' access to and demand for these products; (ii) assess the short- and long-term impacts of trade finance on firm outcomes, including export performance, employment generation, business growth, and overall resilience; (iii) examine the heterogeneity of trade finance impacts across firms, with particular attention to differences by firm size, export experience, sector, risk profile, and other relevant characteristics; (iv) analyze the role of bank characteristics and financial market structure in shaping the effectiveness of trade finance, including the influence of market concentration and bank specialization. The resulting evidence will inform the design, targeting, and development-effectiveness measurement of IDB Group trade finance operations

Contact Information
This section aims to support the local communities and local CSO to get to know which stakeholders are involved in a project with their roles and responsibilities. ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB

The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment. You can submit a complaint by sending an email to MICI@iadb.org. You can learn more about the MICI and how to file a complaint at http://www.iadb.org/en/mici/mici,1752.html (in English) or http://www.iadb.org/es/mici/mici,1752.html (Spanish).
