Project Description

According to the IADB, the objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to support Central America tax administrations in accelerating their digital transformation to improve efficiency, transparency, and compliance, while safeguarding taxpayer information through strong cybersecurity foundations. Building on the growing momentum toward digitalization of the region, the TC responds to persistent gaps in interoperability, data governance, analytical capabilities, institutional readiness, and cyber resilience that limit the effectiveness and sustainability of ongoing modernization efforts. The TC will meet this objective through a coordinated regional approach that enables participating countries to move beyond fragmented, stand-alone solutions toward a secure and integrated digital ecosystem.

The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
