According to the IADB, the general objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is support collective action by financial authorities in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) to enhance digital financial inclusion by strengthening Digital Public Financial Infrastructures (DPFI), building institutional capacity through shared digital solutions, regulatory best practices, and promoting regional policy-relevant knowledge. To this end, the TC will implement regionally oriented initiatives with the specific objectives of: (i) promoting collective definition of regional principles, and convergence of standards and regulatory frameworks for payments, open finance, or other fintech services; (ii) supporting the development of regional DPFIs to expand access to digital payments or open finance, drive innovation, and enable interoperability, integration, and practical use cases; and (iii) building institutional capacities and fostering public-private dialogue.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
