According to the IADB, the objective of this TC is to understand the policy challenges for the development of productive corridors related to extractive industries in Andean countries and to provide policy recommendations. The TC will finance relevant studies and assessments that will inform policymakers. Specifically, this TC will finance assessments to:
(i) identify the productive potential for development of value chains related to extractive industries;
(ii) identify potential productive corridors in Andean countries and analyze the potential externalities of these corridors related to the sectors identified in point (i);
(iii) analyze 2-4 value chains related to extractive industries linked to the productive corridors identified in point (i);
(iv) strengthen existing economic and econometric models to better estimate the economic impact of promoting the value chains outlined in point (i); and
(v) understand the subnational institutional framework and how it can be supported to effectively promote and reap the greatest benefits from reinforced productive corridors.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment. You can submit a complaint by sending an email to MICI@iadb.org. You can learn more about the MICI and how to file a complaint at http://www.iadb.org/en/mici/mici,1752.html (in English) or http://www.iadb.org/es/mici/mici,1752.html (Spanish).
