According to IADB, this Technical Cooperation (TC) will strengthen the work plan of the Forum of Amazonian Cities, considering the opportunity to highlight urban issues in the Amazon through the United Nations Climate Change Conference, Conference of the Parties (COP30), in Belem, Brazil, in November 2025. The specific objectives of this TC are: (i) to build a common agenda for Amazonian governments for sustainable urban development in the lead-up to COP30, to be highlighted at global, regional, and national levels; (ii) to consolidate the institutional framework of the Forum and complete its incorporation process into the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO), contributing to the improvement of its governance, the recording of its achievements and internal processes, as well as its engagement with members and the external public; and (iii) to enhance the resource mobilization capacities for climate resilience projects of the member cities of the Forum of Amazonian Cities.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment. You can submit a complaint by sending an email to MICI@iadb.org. You can learn more about the MICI and how to file a complaint at http://www.iadb.org/en/mici/mici,1752.html (in English) or http://www.iadb.org/es/mici/mici,1752.html (Spanish).
