According to the Bank’s website, the objective of this TC is to support the countries of the LAC Region in strengthening institutional capacities for the development of digital infrastructure around the following areas with the support from ITU: (i) the development of digital infrastructure and services in Latin America and the Caribbean, such as data driven solutions, among others; (ii) the identification of best practices and promotion of best-in-class regulatory frameworks, broadband plans, and digital agendas and similar instruments for sustainable digital infrastructure; (iii) the promotion and development of universal access meaningful connectivity in rural, isolated and poorly serviced areas; (iv) the use of digital infrastructure for the continuity of public services (health, education, security, e-government), the their sustainable digital transformation in all sectors and productivity; and (v) mutual assistance in the design and implementation of projects or operational programs.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project.
