According to the IADB, the general objective of this Technical Cooperation is to contribute to the improvement of the use of capital of the Multilateral Development Banks to leverage private financing for the SDGs. To this end, the TC seeks to:
(i) develop a new strategy for the use of the IDB guarantee with a sovereign counter-guarantee in a multi-country structure for the mobilization of sustainable resources from institutional investors;
(ii) develop a methodology to calculate IDB's capital consumption for the use of this new resource leveraging instrument; and
(iii) strengthen the capacities to mobilize sustainable financing of the countries of the region through new financial cooperation mechanisms.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project.
