According to the Bank’s website, the general objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to develop and systematize an intervention model based on the concept of cluster or border territory. The clusters define strategic geographic territories where there are population settlements and activities with similar needs and deficiencies. The activities carried out within the framework of this TC will focus mainly on a first cluster of the triple border between Brazil, Colombia and Peru with three specific objectives: (i) Obtain a precise contextualization and characterization of the cluster (geographical, ecological, social, economic and functional) that allows to identify and take advantage of its challenges and opportunities from a local reality; (ii) Contribute to a more efficient institutional approach for this type of cluster and its border context; (iii) Support pilot or catalytic initiatives such as cross-border sustainable development opportunities and; (iv) Establish institutional mechanisms for planning and monitoring the use of territory and conservation of the biome in the area of influence of the clusters.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment. You can submit a complaint by sending an email to MICI@iadb.org. You can learn more about the MICI and how to file a complaint at http://www.iadb.org/en/mici/mici,1752.html (in English) or http://www.iadb.org/es/mici/mici,1752.html (Spanish).
