The INFRALAC4ALL initiative aims to support the development of inclusive infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean, promoting the mainstreaming of the gender and diversity (G&D;) perspective in projects in the transport, energy, and water and sanitation sectors; thus contributing to closing the gaps between population groups with socioeconomic disadvantages, such as women, people with disabilities, the LGBTI+ population, indigenous and Afro-descendant populations. The specific objectives of this RPG include: i) the generation of institutional capacities that enable an enabling environment for the adoption of positive actions in favor of G&D; ii) the generation of regional models to attract diverse talent to the infrastructure sector; and iii) the dissemination of good practices for the design of inclusive infrastructure projects. This RPG aspires to transform sectoral ministries, equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge to implement an ambitious strategy of mainstreaming the gender and diversity perspective in the work of each beneficiary institution.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment. You can submit a complaint by sending an email to MICI@iadb.org. You can learn more about the MICI and how to file a complaint at http://www.iadb.org/en/mici/mici,1752.html (in English) or http://www.iadb.org/es/mici/mici,1752.html (Spanish).
