Creation of a Platform at the service of a network of local innovators/laboratories to generate and strengthen urban experimentation capacities, as well as design regulatory frameworks and regional tools that favor innovation. This Platform will be consolidated as a support tool for LAC cities to promote the piloting of innovative solutions that address common urban challenges, and that generate resilience in cities of the region, in line with the objective of mitigation and adaptation to climate change of the Vision 2025. Specifically, this RPG aims to: (i) support local governments to create or strengthen innovation units or urban laboratories, through a platform that promotes the exchange of experiences and innovative tools (legal, technical, methodological) among peers , as well as the co-creation of solutions to common challenges between countries, and (ii) encourage experimentation and piloting of solutions that allow increasing resilience to climate change and urban productivity. The project will promote a mindset of experimentation and tolerance for failure, and will develop peer-to-peer skills of local public administrations to replicate, scale or institutionalize successful pilot projects and lessons learned.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment. You can submit a complaint by sending an email to MICI@iadb.org. You can learn more about the MICI and how to file a complaint at http://www.iadb.org/en/mici/mici,1752.html (in English) or http://www.iadb.org/es/mici/mici,1752.html (Spanish).
