According to the Inter-American Development Bank, this project will help the region address water security issues through the creation of a strategy on the topic. This strategy will be based on knowledge products, technical assistance, and advice with loan operations for better water management. The intended outcomes of the project are to ensure the availability of adequate and reliable water resources of acceptable quality to sustain the provision of water services for all social an economic activities in an environmentally sustainable manner.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
