Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to the Inter-American Development Bank, this project will support the region's transition from industrial ports to smart ports, allowing countries to better leverage technological innovation. 

The technical cooperation will include five components:

  1. Toolkit for smart ports in Latin America and the Caribbean. In this component, best practices in smart port implementation l will be analysed to create a toolkit to support countries in benchmarking their own performance.
  2. Pilot benchmarking assessments and roadmaps. In this part of the project, the degree to which key ports can advance in the evolution to smart ports will be assessed.
  3. Communication, dissemination, and technical assistance. In this component, a communications strategy will be developed to socialise the results of all undertaken research and consultation activities. 
  4. Meeting of the Inter-American Network of Single Windows (Red VUCE). Under this part of the project, a space for dialogue between Latin American and Caribbean countries can exchange experiences and lessons learned will be created. 
  5. Supervision and monitoring. This part of the project will be composed of a oversight and monitoring mechanism.
