According to the Bank’s website, the general objective of this IGR is to advance the sustainable management of hazardous C&W; in the Caribbean. Its specific objectives are: i) to strengthen the policy, regulatory and legal enabling environment; ii) to build institutional capacity at the public sector level to properly manage hazardous C&W; iii) to improve the bankability of hazardous C&W; projects to unlock public sector financing for projects targeting hazardous C&W; and iii) to advance knowledge management around C&W; in the Caribbean. This operation will contribute to the implementation of Components 1, 2 and 5 of the Facility.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
