Project Description

According to the IADB, the overall objective of this TC is to strengthen the institutional capacity of the MPS to improve the effectiveness of social prevention policies and interventions addressing violence and delinquency among adolescents and young people, particularly in high-risk areas. This objective will be pursued by enhancing the Ministry's ability to generate, analyze, and use evidence to inform decision-making; improving the design and targeting of prevention interventions; and supporting the updating of strategic and operational frameworks for youth violence prevention. The TC aims to ensure that prevention efforts are better aligned with the characteristics of at-risk populations and territories, and that they are grounded in reliable data and proven practices.

The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project.
