Project Description
This Technical Cooperation will support the second Policy Reform Loan under the Panama Transportation and Logistics Sector Reform Program PN-L1110 (see Related Projects) and PN-L1119 (see Related Projects). The main objective of this program is to contribute to the improvement of Panama's logistic performance, through the reduction of regulatory and institutional restrictions that affect: (i) the Aggregate Value Logistic Services conglomerate; (ii) logistics to support the agricultural sector; And (iii) regional trade support logistics. Specific objectives include: (i) strengthening of the legal and regulatory framework; (ii) consolidation of the institutional framework for logistics and transportation; And (iii) strengthening of the multisectoral planning and trade facilitation system.
Investment Description
The total Technical Cooperation budget will be US $500,000. The Bank, through the contribution of the Spanish General Fund (FGE), will finance US $400,000, and the Government of Panama will provide a local counterpart in kind for US $100,000.
